So I started thinking oil levels maybe, but I got a n oil change recently. I went back to my vehicle manual for ideas and just to read up and I found a section in the Oil Levels section called "Front Differential Gear Oil (Automatic)", and "Rear Differential Gear Oil ( AWD)".

I want to change out the differential gear oil but which one do I put it to it. The rear one has a stamp that says use limited slip only. In these cases, filling until the oil runs out of the hole provides the correct level. Discussion Starter · #1 · Oct 12, 2010. Just chnaged my front and rear differential gear oil and noticed the oil I used is Valvoline SAE 85W-145. Owners manual calls for SAE 80. Do I need to start all over? Also didnt realize front Gear case on engine uses 10W-40 motor oil.
